The “Bay to Bahia: Brazil 2010” trip is a dream that we have been moving toward for several years. Now is the time to make international travel for our students a reality. The opportunity for students to “travel to Brazil for two weeks and participate in academic, cultural, performing arts, and service-learning activities” is the beginning of a life-long appreciation for travel. For the majority of our students travel to Brazil will be the first time they will interact with individuals who share a common African ancestry yet speak a different language. There is much to be shared and learned. The students have all the motivation, interest and commitment they could ever need. All that keeps us from getting to Brazil is money.
